Spy Intelligence

In 1945, just after the German surrender, Major Kaufmann of G-2 Counterintelligence receives disturbing reports: aerial bombs are missing from Italy. German POW Airmen are being transferred to France for no obvious reason. A fleet of B17s disappear without a trace. When Kaufmann tries to follow up, his contacts are murdered before he can reach them, and then the word comes from Eisenhower's office: stop Kaufmann, stop him dead.

SAS Sergeant Geordie Sharp is required to undertake two top-secret missions in the full knowledge that if things go wrong, the authorities will deny all involvement. In the first mission he is to serve as a commander of a hit team on a Black, or 100% non-attributable operation assigned to the SAW, the Regiment's ultra-secret Subversive Action Wing. His target is an Iraqi who defected to Libya after the Gulf War. The aim is to kill him and leave no clue to the identity or origin of the assassins.

The world has changed, but Jerusalem endures. Overlooked by new superpowers, the Holy City of the future is a haven of spies and smugglers, exiles and extremists. A refugee with strange technological abilities searches for a place to disappear. An ambitious young criminal plots the heist that could make or destroy him. A corrupt minister harnesses the power of the past in a ruthless play for complete control. And the wheels of another plan - as old and intricate as the city itself - begin to turn....

Spies sometimes get a certain reputation for being male, but that is not something that is always the case. There were actually quite a few female spies who were present in the past and who were able to make a difference in their countries because of the things that they did.
