"Le manteau" appartient au recueil des "Nouvelles de Pétersbourg", publié en 1843. Ce court texte raconte l'existence simple, limitée, mais heureuse d'un petit fonctionnaire russe, Akaki Akakiévitch Bachmatchkine. Lorsque ses collègues lui font remarquer l'usure de son manteau, pour la première fois, Akaki est sensible aux critiques mesquines et quotidiennes de son entourage, et il se met en tête d'économiser sou après sou pour s'offrir un nouvel habit. Quand il l'acquiert enfin, il est agressé, et son manteau volé.

Publicada por primera vez en 1886, es una novela corta del escritor ruso Lev Tolstói. Dentro de su bibliografía, se encuentra hacia el final de su producción.
