Dr. Arline T. Geronimus coined the term “weathering” to describe the effects of systemic oppression—including racism and classism—on the body. Batavia, New York—between Rochester and Buffalo—hosted its first professional baseball game in 1897. Thorstein Veblen (1857-1929) was an American economist and sociologist.
