Maui's rich history and culture are the foundation of these new, original short stories by Maui's award-winning author/playwright. Under Maui Skies, and Other Stories presents seven Maui tales in different genres set in a variety of Maui locales ranging in time from pre-contact Hawai`i to the 1960s. In "The Cave of Whispering Spirits", a couple and family face the wrath of the goddess of fire, Pele, in the last eruption of Haleakala.

Henry Park was born watching movies. Born in a California multiplex to Soo, a Korean immigrant, and film buff, his path was forged in the flickering light of the silver screen. As Henry grows into a movie-obsessed young man, he makes a calculation that will change his life and commit him wholeheartedly to his passion: He sets the absurdly ambitious goal to watch 100,000 movies in his lifetime.

Desperate to earn some extra money, Reena applies for a photo-shoot advertisement she sees online. The money is good, and the work is easy, but curiosity gets the better of her as she hears seductive moans and unrelenting screams in the room next door to to the photographer’s studio. A quick peek through the keyhole and a few questions later, and the busty woman is surprised to hear of the ridiculously large sums of money she could earn starring in an adult movie.

When Tania and Jade get parts in an exotic film, they are awed by each other's glamorous costumes. The slinky outfits could bring out a whole new side to their friendship. But it's when the costumes come off that the real sirens emerge.
