The earliest Christians were known not simply as believers or adherents of a new religion; they were called Followers of the Way. This title, taken from the words of Jesus Himself who declared, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life”, reflected a profound understanding of what it meant to live in relationship with Messiah. Christian missionaries engaged in aggressive campaigns to proselytize the Muslim masses and boasted of considerable success.

A Gift for Baghdad is the English translation of Tuhfa-e-Baghdad, which was written in Arabic by the Promised Messiah (as) in 1893. It is a reply to an announcement and letter written in Arabic by As-Sayyid ‘Abdur Razzaq al-Qadiri of Baghdad (residing in Hyderabad, India at the time) maligning the Promised Messiah (as) and accusing him of disbelief (God forbid). In A Gift for Baghdad, the Promised Messiah (as) dispels the misunderstandings and misconceptions held by al-Qadiri and advises him not to hastily accept the allegations of the ulama without proper and thorough investigation.

Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as), the Promised Messiah and Mahdi, advised the members of the Jama’at to hold a meeting on that day and offer prayers for the success of the British government. In his address, he commented on the chapter An-Naas of the Holy Qur’an, and reminded the audience of the duties they owed to the government, especially because of the goodness of the government, which it had displayed in various ways

The Christian church is made up of individual members of the body of Christ. This book is written to those individuals. The church as a whole cannot obey God. Only the parts can.

During World War Two, in the concentration camp Terezin, a group of Jewish children and their devoted teacher planted and nurtured a smuggled-in sapling. Over time fewer and fewer children were left to care for the little tree, but those who remained kept lovingly sharing their water with it. When the war finally ended and the prisoners were freed, the sapling had grown into a strong five-foot-tall maple.

The Revealed Sermon is an Arabic sermon delivered by Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, the Promised Messiah (as), on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha. On that very morning of 11 April 1900, he had received the Divine revelation, ‘Today you will deliver the speech in Arabic; you have been endowed with this ability.’ Accordingly, he stood up before a live audience of approximately 200 people and began to deliver the sermon ad lib.
