Adorno. Der 1895 in Zuffenhausen bei Stuttgart geborene Max Horkheimer (1895-1973) wuchs in einer wohlhabenden jüdischen Textilindustriellenfamilie auf. Mit seinem Freund Friedrich Pollock zog er 1919 zunächst nach München, dann nach Frankfurt am Main.

Later, Epictetus obtained his freedom shortly after emperor Nero’s death and started teaching philosophy in Rome for nearly 25 years.

The 17th emperor of Rome preserved and protected the Empire, mainly by keeping the Parthians in the East and the Northern barbarians at bay. More sage than soldier, he ruled wisely and set a noble example in a wicked age.
