The Greek text that is the basis for the ESV, CSB, NRSV, NIV, NLT and other English versions of the New Testament is marketed as an "eclectic" text. But after textual analyst James Edward Snapp Jr. examined the base-text, he concluded that the idea that the compilation-method used by the editors of the Nestle-Aland Novum Testamentum Graece and the UBS Greek New Testament is NOT, by any reasonable definition of the word, eclectic.
