Area 51, Hangar 18, the Montauk facility - these are just a few of the select, highly classified installations which governments prefer that we, the general public, remain steadfastly ignorant. These same governments have reasons for wanting to keep us in the dark. The number of soldiers wounded in World War I is, in itself, devastating: over 21 million military wounded, and nearly 10 million killed. On the battlefield, the injuries were shocking, unlike anything those in the medical field had ever witnessed. The bullets hit fast and hard, went deep, and took bits of dirty uniform and airborne soil particles in with them. When the Second World War broke out in September 1939, the British asked Australia for help. With some misgivings, the Australian government sent five destroyers to beef up the British Royal Navy in the Mediterranean.
