As they were walking back across the plain to Mammoth Cliff the Clan survived the Wall of Fire and then the rains came and turned the Desolate Plain into a sea of mud and ash. Now the CaveMan Kid's Clan join the Cave Lions and Howling Beasts as they scavenge the plain for the unfortunate animals that didn't escape the fire. As Grandpa's little band are scavenging the plain to stock up on food for the coming winter, the survivors of the fire are recovering in Mammoth Cliff thinking about how to get all the food and hides back to the new home cave.

The cavemen kids first met the baby mammoth after the Mammoth Hunt and since the baby mammoth had nowhere to go it just followed the kids. The baby mammoth followed the kids back to the river where a heavy downpour upstream swelled the river and this wall of water came swirling towards the kids and the family. They were lucky the mammoth had started to run up the hill and kids and the tribe followed it. The tribe found a new cave to live in but they were in the territory of the Spotted Beast and the Spotted Beast came back for lunch but Grandpa was waiting and killed the Beast. The clan ...

After the Wall of Fire the Caveman Kids and the clan have turned scavenger as they search the plain for animals who did not survive the fire so they can take them back to their cave. While out scavenging they meet the other scavengers like the cave Lions and the Howling Beasts, but because there is food everywhere the animals are not hunting they have all eaten there fill and are just out and about on the plain. It is here the Little Clan meet the Howling Beasts as the howling beasts are using the river for water and it seems as though the little clan might have inadvertently also stumbled ...
