As the heyday of the Chicano Movement of the late 1960s to early '70s fades further into history and as more and more of its important figures pass on, so too does knowledge of its significance. Este es un testimonio sobre los 18 años que viví cerca del presidente Andrés Manuel López Obrador, al ser pareja de su entonces jefe de prensa César Yáñez. Ellos dos son los protagonistas de esta historia llena de traiciones políticas, ambiciones personales, infidelidades, abusos laborales, corrupción y autoritarismo. Mi propósito es evidenciar cómo el poder ha sido el gran amor y la obsesión de López Obrador, y cómo el odio y el resentimiento han sido el alimento que lo sostiene.

"Biografía del poder", centrada en la historia mexicana de la primera mitad del siglo XX, constituye el segundo tomo de una trilogía que empezó con "Siglo de caudillos" (Andanzas 207), que ganó en 1993 el VI Premio Comillas y que culminará con un tercer volumen dedicado a la historia más reciente del poder en México, desde 1940 hasta nuestros días.

On September 26, 2014, 43 male students from the Ayotzinapa Rural Teachers' College went missing in Iguala, Guerrero, Mexico.
