『집으로 가는 길은 어디서라도 멀지 않다』는 정확하고 간결한 글 솜씨로 법정 스님을 잇는 문장가라는 평을 듣기도 한 원철스님이 2011년 산사로 돌아간 뒤 처음 펴낸 산문집이다. 이 책은 스님의 일상과 수행, 공부, 여행 단상을 담았다. 누구나의 일상과 다를 바 없지만, 힐링과 충고에 지친 사람들에게 맑은 차 한 잔 같은 '쉼', 그리고 반짝이는 '깨우침'을 함께 느낄 수 있다.
