秋になると聞きたい落語の一つですが、意外に演者は少なく、寄席や落語会で上演されることは稀です。面白い内容だと思いますし、季節感もタップリだけに、もっと演者が増えてもいいと思うのですが・・・

約三百五十年前、江戸で活躍した東京の噺家のパイオニア・鹿野武左衛門が創作したネタで、現在では演じる者が少ない珍品です。しかし、後世に伝える値打ちは十分あると思います。

歌舞伎や文楽でお馴染みの「夏祭浪花鑑／長町裏」、俗に言う「泥場」のパロディの落語です。親旦那に忠義な番頭の、若旦那や店への過剰過ぎる思い入れで起こる騒動。
