December 7, 1941. The Japanese forces attacked Pearl Harbor and the United States was sucked into World War II. The nation was furious, and the public demanded revenge. American planes were beginning to run low on plausible targets when it was decided to use two atomic weapons in a final flourish to try to end the war.
