This is a novel about a young German woman in the early 1940's who leaves Germany to fight with the French resistance against the Naxi occupation of Vichy France.

Volume Five begins on an optimistic note. The French recognition of the United States on February 6, 1778, along with the promise of military assistance, renewed Washington’s confidence in eventual success. After the first year of the Civil War, the Confederacy was faced with a serious problem. The dates in terms of the revolutionary calendar have been modernized, and names and titles of individuals mentioned have been maintained with no attempt at uniformity. This production was begun on the 250th year of Napoleon's birth.
