A pandemic sweeps through the country, and soon spreads throughout the world. It leads to an economic collapse, but that's only the beginning. After Auden moves into another house, he finds a secret room that contains something shocking . . . something that might be connected to the epidemic, and as he seeks answers, he soon finds himself in tremendous danger.

After losing their four-year-old daughter to a mysterious pandemic, Benton and Jennifer, along with their friends, decide to leave the coast. But after encountering a storm, they are forced to dock at an unknown island. After discovering some unusual findings, they begin to realize that the island has a bit of a history. Once they become convinced that the pandemic actually originated there, they begin to wonder if they'll leave the island alive.
