This is a book about common sense—what it is, how to make it, and how to put it into practice across all contexts of leadership and life. It's also a book of stories from my leadership journey across continents, cultures, and contexts (e.g., combat, business, and government). In this book, you’ll learn what I learned and what many other common-sense leaders across the ages have learned before us.

The title comes from the story of the Phoenix—a Greek legend of a bird/dragon that arises from the ashes of its predecessor—being born again. It relates to the situations people may be in now—low achievement, lack of success, mediocrity.
