The Aldens are spending the summer traveling on a houseboat! Throughout their journey, the children have the feeling that they’re being watched. Someone is watching them - and the thing that he wants is somewhere on their boat! He’ll stop at nothing to get it and it’s up to the Boxcar Children to figure out why!

The Aldens are going with grandfather to visit his friend, old Cap Lambert, a retired riverboat pilot who lives in a cabin in the woods. To get there, the Boxcar Children take a wonderful trip down the Mississippi in a paddlewheel boat. But when they arrive at Cap Lambert’s cabin, they find some mysterious things are going on. Spooky phone calls, eerie flickering lights, strange dark figures. Is the cabin haunted?

The Boxcar Children are spending the summer in a tiny, quiet New England fishing village. The little schoolhouse doesn’t have a proper teacher, so the Aldens are teaching!
