Apocalyptic Box

As one of the rulers of the ancient city of Quintana, Lord Carbón enjoys power and privilege that the lower castes of the city can only admire and envy. His wealth and status come from the coal mined atop the plateau and shipped across the Great Span - a mysterious bridge built during a legendary period of super science. When miners discover a strange new artifact in the mines, maiming those who touch it and spawning deadly, shadow-like witherers, the discovery draws the attention of Salvatore, head of the secretive Luminoso cult.

It's been a month without power. With no phones, no computers, and no reprieve, the remaining fragments of humanity are disintegrating rapidly. Starvation grips the populace as ruthless gangs emerge, seizing control in a merciless free-for-all that engulfs the entire nation. Daniel and Vic Vena weren't content to sit around and wait for the world to end. Long ago, they swore that when the day came, they'd be ready for it. But when an EMP decimates the nation's power grid, the brothers find themselves separated by many miles and even more threats.

Seven characters find themselves trapped inside an elevator during a zombie apocalypse. The narrator, the last passenger to occupy the elevator, tells them that his wife, who was murdered by a zombie, told him as she died in his arms that she saw one of the passengers get bitten by a zombie before the person ducked into the elevator, but she died before she could describe the victim to him. The terrified passengers know that the victim will soon turn and attack them. They must determine who it is and kill him or her before it is too late - if they don't kill each other first trying to find out.

They call it the plague. A generation of children born with extreme genetic mutations. They call it a home. But it's a place of neglect and forced labour. They call him a freak. But Dog is just a boy who wants to be treated as normal. They call them dangerous. They might be right. The story of a lost generation and a boy who just wants to be one of us.
