The Amish community in Little Valley is facing big changes and big threats with tourism booming. It becomes clear that some of the new businesses want control of the market, and it looks like they are willing to go to great lengths to get it. With one barn after another set on fire in the middle of the night, it becomes personal, and the community is scared for the well-being of their families and their future in the small town.

Levi expects to meet Ruby at their secret spot in the woods, but she is nowhere to be found. Due to a disagreement earlier that day at the breakfast table, Ruby’s father is faced with a battle of pride as the bishop of the Amish community. But between fielding questions from every person in town who is desperate to find out where Mrs. Simpkins has gone, to finding extra help for the busy holiday season, Katie's blessings this year are being outweighed by her problems.

Warning: Before you even consider listening to this, understand that this is a story about a guy that is large, feels he is in charge, and is ready to kick some butt. In truth, he is essentially deaf, almost blind, socially handicapped, and has little sense of smell to boot. Add to that his basic disregard for proper attire and you have one humorous, heartfelt, and, at times, moving story. Okay maybe not that heartfelt or moving, but it may all depend on how you look at things.
