Alternate History War

Tom Edison and George Westinghouse battled for years over which type of electricity would be the worldwide standard. The Current War incited Tom to electrocute a six-ton elephant named Topsy. It's 1904. Edison is on trial for Topsy's premeditated murder a year earlier. In an unusual legal maneuver, Westinghouse assumed the state's prerogative by retaining the prosecutor, Bourke Cockran, a wealthy Manhattan attorney, federal Congressman, and a mainstay in the Democratic Party.

This novel is based on a collection of stories written in a group and posted to an app called StoryFire. I came up with the idea and began the series, but I had help from my co- writer in creating this series.

Hopson blends speculative fiction, historical fiction, and narrative force to imagine what it would be like if our nation's forefathers were attacked by the world’s most deadly war machine: The United States of America. Washington, Franklin, and Revere are insurgent foes pursued by Allied Forces. An embedded reporter pens a stark, first-person reflection of America’s war on terror/war on itself.
