The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis is a fantasy novel for children, first published in 1950. It is the best known of the seven novels that comprise The Chronicles of Narnia (1950-1956). Most of the story is set in Narnia, a land of talking animals and mythical creatures ruled by the wicked White Witch. The narrative starts with four English siblings being relocated to a large country house following a wartime evacuation. They visit Narnia through a wardrobe and become involved in its affairs and its history.

"Stop it!" cried Eustace. "It's some silly trick you are playing! Ow!" A great cold salt splash had broken right out of the frame and they were breathless from the smack of it, as well as being wet through. Lucy and Edmund, stuck with their awful cousin Eustace, suddenly find themselves in a picture of a sailing ship, the Dawn Treader, and realise they have been drawn back into the land of Narnia.

C.S. Lewis' famous work on the nature of love divides love into four categories: affection, friendship, eros and charity. The first three are loves which come naturally to the human race. Charity, however, the gift-love of God, is divine in its source and expression, and without the sweetening grace of this supernatural love, the natural loves become distorted and even dangerous.

Clive Staples Lewis (1898-1963) was one of the greatest intellectuals of the 20th century and a highly influential writer of his day. The Screwtape Letters is a classic of religious satire. Humorous and witty, the text consists of the letters of a senior demon to a younger one, coaching him on how to capture the soul of a Christian. With a narrative simultaneously comic and serious, the book is an insightful account of temptation and how to resist it.

In a world where evil weaves a spell, Giants and Marsh-wiggles can be friend or foe, but the stakes are raised when they reach Underland and come face-to-face with a notorious and terrifying opponent.

The last days of Narnia, and all hope seems lost as lies and treachery interweave to threaten the destruction of everything. As the battle lines are drawn, old friends are summoned back to Narnia, though none can predict the outcome in this magnificent ending to the famous series.
