A few days after his fight with Cathy, he spent the whole night walking on the moors, and he returned with a strange almost happy persona. Nelly soon found him laying in the bed in Catherin's room dead. She tells Lockwood that he has since been buried and that Cathy and Hareton shall soon be married, and then shall move to the Grange. Lockwood then leaves the Wuthering Heights and makes his way toward the church yard.
