I also tell you guys about what got me so interested in the mafia and why they are some of my favorite cases to research! John Gotti's story is full of drama. He was all over the media in the 80s and 90s and he absolutely loved the attention. The media dubbed him "The Dapper Don", he was a cold blooded killer in a $2000 suit. Unfortunately, like most megalomaniacs the fall from the top comes swift and hard. In a world that prides itself on loyalty John Gotti's disloyalty to his closest ally would lead to his own undoing as well as the fall of the entire Gambino crime family. Moral of the story... I found this podcast by accident earlier this year (2022)and I have been hooked ever since! I was drawn in by Russ’ NY accent and stayed for the stories and the banter. Russ and Jess make these stories come alive and make me feel sad, horrified, scared and angry-all the feelings! I now quote Russ -“stay fit, stay alive!” and my personal favorite “too fat to kidnap!” Thanks for bringing light to these cases and thanks for showing me not everything has a horrible ending with your segment “not me! Not today!” Keep it up! ♥️

Jess and Russ are an entertaining couple with witty banter that adds needed levity to dark subjects. Episodes are well researched. Working on staying fit and staying alive.

I am obsessed with Jess and Russ. I tell everyone I know to listen. My fave is when Russ makes fun of Jess farting. I am a fellow farter, and they remind me of when my hubby makes fun of my farts to our friends. It’s embarrassing but he’s just venting his frustration 😆 my fave time of day is when I’m working and listening to them!

Russ and Jess are just so likable. I love listening to their banter and stories. I tell everyone who loves true crime about this show and Im so glad they are back! even though Russ isn't religious, I've got him in my prayers.
