  • Markale Lundy: A Fight for Justice
    May 8 2025

In this episode of Wickedly Judged, we uncover the devastating story of Markale Lundy, a man wrongfully convicted in 2014 of aggravated robbery, kidnapping, attempted murder, and aggravated burglary. Markale was sentenced to 22 years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit. For two months, the victims described the perpetrators as two white men, yet Markhale—a Black man—was accused and convicted.

The prosecution claimed that DNA evidence tied Markale to the crime, but this evidence was later discredited and buried by the prosecutor. Adding to the injustice, Markale’s public defender failed to call key witnesses, including expert witnesses who could have cleared his name.

In Part 1 of this two-part series, we’ll hear directly from Markale as he shares his story in his own words. He takes us through the events leading to his arrest, the trial that sealed his fate, and the emotional toll of being wrongfully imprisoned.
