It’s hard to know with any specificity what that future will look like given the experience universities have had over the past year-plus, and the ongoing uncertainty about what this academic year will be like. A shift to remote learning became necessary when lockdowns closed down in-person classes. Some schools learned that remote learning has its limitations and are now rethinking the optimal role of technology in the future campus experience.
