After a 2 year break, we are BACK! Larking Gowen presents Tourism Business Chat, where host and tourism specialist Chris Scargill interviews successful business owners and leaders from the tourism, leisure and hospitality sector throughout Norfolk, Essex and Suffolk. Each week, we feature special guests who will share their experiences and talk openly about themselves, their business and how they see the future. They share the challenges their business and the sector are facing, what they have learnt from lockdown, and how they plan to structure their business in the face of the ongoing challenges facing the sector. These open and honest discussions will hopefully inspire those in the sector to plan for growth and continued success, as the region aims to rightfully hold its place as a key destination for visitors in the UK. Previous series have focused on the challenges of COVID-19, but this new series has its sights set on the future and current successes of businesses in the sector. www.larking-gowen.co.uk/tourism-insights podcasts@larking-gowen.co.uk @LarkingGowen (c) Larking Gowen LLPLarking Gowen Economía Gestión Gestión y Liderazgo Liderazgo

    Jul 4 2024

During the Tourism Business Survey Seminar, held at ROARR! on 22 May 2024, the audience heard from some inspirational local business leaders on the tourism and hospitality sector. One of them is a familiar face on TV and in bookshops, and owner of Jimmy’s Farm & Wildlife Park, Jimmy Doherty.

Jimmy chatted to Chris Scargill about the changes he has seen over the years in customer behavior and trends, the importance of investment and funding for tourism based businesses, what tourism really means to him, and of course, how you go about embarking on a rescue mission that means building Europe’s largest polar bear reserve, on a UK farm!
