  • How to know Him
    May 21 2025
Now how are you going to know the Lord Jesus Christ? Well, friends, the only way you can know Him is in the Word of God. And a great many people, they feel that if they go to a Bible study once a week or they go to a little course that they take, that somehow or another that they’re super-duper saints. My friend, the Word of God is like food. But imagine going in and eating a good meal and then saying, “Well, I’ll be back in a week. And I’ll have another meal with you.” Well, that’s no good. This is the Bread of Life. And if we are to know Christ, we’re to live with Him, and He’s to live with us. And that’s the way you can come to know Him.

  • Strength comes from the Word
    May 20 2025
“I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.” You see, the young men are strong because they know the Word of God. And that’s the only way in the world you’ll ever be strong. Now, you can go to the gymnasium and do sitting up exercises and watch TV and do them in your living room, and you may be able to develop a few muscles. But you’ll never be strong in the Lord until you get into the Word of God. There’s nothing but the Word of God, friends, that can make you strong.

  • His will is for us to love Him
    May 19 2025
Believers are to do the will of God, and the will of God, primarily, first of all, is to love Him. Oh, how important that this is here. And this is something that identifies the believer. A believer is one that delights in the will of God, and a believer ought to be able to say, because the true light—“the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth.” Day by day, moment by moment, I ought to be able to say I’m getting to know the Lord better. I’m understanding His will more perfectly. And that ought to be the experience of every child of God today. That day after day you ought to be growing.

  • Our attitude toward sin
    May 16 2025
“Whosoever keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected (or perfected, however you want it): by this know we that we are in him.” Now, here we have “keepeth his word.” The Word of God then is perfected in Him. He’s gone past the commandments, and He just wants to please God. And that’s what a child of God ought to do. What is your attitude toward sin? Does it trouble you? Does it break your fellowship with the Father, and does it cause you to cry out in the night, “Oh, God, I’m wrong. I want to come to You and confess this. I’ve been wrong. I want fellowship with You.” And, may I say that on that basis, He’ll restore fellowship with us.

  • He is our advocate
    May 15 2025
“He is the propitiation for our sins.” Now the word “propitiation” back in Romans meant “mercy seat.” Here it’s just a little bit different, it means that sins have been paid for by the suffering of another. Now Christ has died and because He died for us, we’re God’s child. And it doesn’t say we have an Advocate if any man confesses his sin. And it doesn’t say we have an Advocate if a man goes through a ceremony in order to get rid of the sins. No. If any man sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, and it’s Jesus Christ that does that.

  • You can be restored
    May 14 2025
The prodigal son, when he got home, before he got that robe, friends, he had a bath. You don’t think the Father would have put a new robe on that ragged, dirty boy, smelling like a pig pen, do you? No, He gave him a good bath; he was cleansed, and a new robe was put on him. And the next week he didn’t say, “Dad, I think I’m going to go to the far country and end up in a pig pen again.” Not that boy. May I say to you—when you have confessed your sin to God, it means, my friend, that you’ve turned from that sin. It means you have said the same thing God has said. Sin is a terrible thing. God hates it. You hate it now, but you’ve now been restored to your Father.

  • Tell Him everything
    May 13 2025
When was the last time that you really heard a child of God say, “I’ve sinned; I’ve been wrong, I’ve done wrong, I’m wrong.” And every now and then you hear somebody. I just talked the other day with a man that, I tell you, he got into deep trouble. And I very frankly said to him, I said, “Don’t cry on my shoulder. Go and tell God that. He wants you to. Tell Him that you’ve failed; tell Him that you’re wrong and you want His help. He’s your Father. You’re in the family. You’ve lost fellowship with Him, but you can have fellowship restored.” “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins.”

  • A way back to Him
    May 12 2025
“If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.” Now don’t make God a liar. Why don’t you go to the Lord, friends, and just open your heart and talk to Him as you can talk to no one else. Tell Him your problems. “If we confess our sins, he’s faithful and just to forgive us our sins.” And then what does He do? He cleanses us. Tell Him your sins. Tell Him your weaknesses. Confess it all to Him, and tell your Father that you want to have fellowship and you want to serve. My, He’s made a marvelous, wonderful way back to Himself.
