  • Feedback for revision
    Jun 24 2025

In part three of our four-part revision series, we talk about a necessary, but often fraught and scary, step of the revision process: getting feedback.

Most writers know that feedback is necessary for making polished final drafts, but beginning writers don't always know how and when to seek it out. It can be very exciting to have accomplished enough writing to getting feedback. But not all feedback is helpful--either it's too early, too focused on the reader's personal preferences, or diverting you from what you really need to be working on at this point in your process. In this video, Amanda reviews when to get feedback on your memoir--and when not to.

Do you have a plan for actually finishing your memoir? If not, we know you aren’t making the progress you hoped for. That’s why we developed The Memoir Method Checklist.
