    Jul 21 2025

In this heartwarming episode of the Online Entrepreneur Academy Podcast, I’m joined by friend, teacher, and talented author Carrie Evans. We talk about her international teaching adventures, the inspiration behind her book The Fun We Had, and the joyful chaos of life - from classroom mishaps to navigating publishing in retirement.

    Carrie shares:

    • Stories from around the world — from Crete to the UAE to car boot sales in the UK!
    • Her wonderfully unplanned journey into authorship
    • Honest insights into the ups and downs of self-publishing and marketing

We also chat about transferable teaching skills, finding writing flow (hint: it sometimes involves Sauvignon Blanc), and why fun is the most powerful classroom legacy of all.

Carrie’s book is funny, moving, and filled with characters that leap off the page — just like this conversation.

🎧 Enjoy the episode and discover why it’s never too late to write your story.

  • Building the Future of Gluten Free Fast Food with Sonny Wells
    Jul 13 2025

In this episode I sit down with Sonny Wells — the inspiring founder behind a gluten-free food business that’s turning heads and winning awards as it gets off the ground.

Sonny opens up about living with coeliac disease, the spark that led him to launch his brand, and what it really felt like to win the Elevator of Dreams competition, judged by none other than Simon Squibb and Richard Branson.

We talk food, funding, and what it takes to build something that truly matters - including plans for his London eatery and how he's raising money to grow even further.

Whether you’re navigating dietary challenges, dreaming of launching your own brand, or just love a good founder story — this episode’s for you.

" Two things to end on would be, yeah, put your face out there. It's worthwhile. Be the spokesperson, no one else is going to be as passionate as the business as you are. Shout about it to, to the cows to come home as they say. And also, just start just start." Sonny Wells: Entrepreneur, Founder, Inspiration.

  • Talking Writing, Websites & All Things Words with Susannah Ross
    Jun 23 2025

Welcome back to the Online Entrepreneur Academy Podcast, and today I’m thrilled to introduce a very special guest – the quietly brilliant and wonderfully wise Susannah Ross.

Susanna is a writer, editor, trainer, and consultant who’s spent a lifetime helping others find clarity in their words. She began her career as a journalist for the BBC World Service, reporting from Portugal during the revolution and later becoming Deputy Editor of World Service News. She’s trained journalists across the globe—from Georgia to Thailand—and developed the BBC’s web writing courses.

Now, she specialises in helping businesses and individuals communicate more clearly online. Whether it's writing for the web, simplifying complex reports, or shaping accessible websites, Susannah brings a rare combination of precision, warmth, and deep experience to the world of words.

In this episode, we talk about everything from centred text (don’t do it!) to how to create websites people actually want to read. We also explore the joys and pitfalls of plain English, transferable skills for educators, and the importance of asking for help.

This is one of those conversations packed with gems—practical, thoughtful, and quietly empowering.

  • A conversation with Dr Rebecca Williams about Stress, Resilience and Small Changes
    May 25 2025

In this episode, I’m joined once more by Dr Rebecca Williams, retired GP with nearly 25 years of experience in the Scottish Borders, and the founder of Williams Stress Management. Rebecca works with individuals and organisations to reduce the impact of stress on health, life, and work with science-backed strategies and real-world wisdom.

Through workshops, webinars, and 1-to-1 sessions, Rebecca offers personalised, practical support rooted in both her medical background and a deep understanding of the human side of stress.

In our second conversation, she shares why stress isn’t a sign of weakness — it’s a biological response that can be better understood, managed, and even used to spark change.

“Stress tells us something needs attention. It’s not the enemy – it’s a signal.”

    We also explore:

    • The signs many people miss when stress is building up
    • How employers can create a culture of care — not crisis response
    • Why small changes, done consistently, build long-term resilience

💬 Please note: No individual medical advice is given in this episode. This conversation is for general information and awareness purposes only.

Dr Williams speaks with clarity, kindness, and authority — the kind that only comes from years of helping people through both personal and professional storms.

This is a must-listen for anyone wanting to better understand stress and take back some control.

I wholeheartedly thank Dr Williams for coming back to the podcast to share insight to this very important topic.

My own take away: Stress is real and important to understand.
