    Dr. Evan Kalin-Hajdu hosts this episode of The Oculofacial Podcast. Dr. Kalin-Hajdu is an assistant professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Montreal in the division of Oculofacial Plastic Surgery. The panel includes Dr. Dan D. DeAngelis, Dr. Peter Dolman, and Dr. Femida Kherani. Dr. DeAngelis is the chief of Oculofacial Plastic Surgery at the University of Toronto, Dr. Dolman is the division head of Oculofacial Plastic Surgery at the University of British Columbia, and Dr. Kherani is a clinical Associate Professor Ophthalmology at the University of British Columbia in the division of Oculofacial Plastic Surgery.

    Drs. Kalin, DeAngelis, Dolman, and Kherani all undertook ASOPRS fellowships in the United States, but practice broad spectrum eyelid and orbital Oculofacial Plastic Surgery in Canada. Dr. Kalin-Hajdu engages the three panelists in a thought-provoking conversation about the pros and cons of practicing in Canada, as well as comparisons between Canada and the United States. Discussed advantages of Canadian healthcare include high patient volume, a very low insurance-related administrative burden, competitive reimbursement, and an easy-going patient population. Discussed disadvantages included limited resources and rising health care costs.
