We have been crucified with Christ, nevertheless we live! Yet is is not we but Christ who now lives in us. When the Spirit works the Cross into the heart and soul, we are free to live by the Resurrection and the Life who comes forth! Our standards and values change completely, following the work of the Cross within.

Samuel Logan Brengle served in the Salvation Army over 100 years ago, as well as being a deep Lover of Jesus. I hope you enjoy this excerpt from his book Love Slaves. His theology may not be exactly the same as yours, but his heart is true, and therefore, I think, has something to say to us that is deeply edifying.

In this episode we continue our search in Habakkuk and discover how this man seeing the Lord changed everything for him. He went from being completely bound up with what was good and bad in his circumstances to seeing how all of it was judged in Christ before it even happened. There was first a loss, and then a gain.

It is good to know that we are in Christ. It is much better to live in Christ so fully He is more real to us than our circumstances and surroundings! God made us to dwell in Christ, and He knows how to bring us in to a living moment-by-moment Oneness that is a completely different realm than the world around us!
