Acerca de esta escucha
In this episode of the Joyful Mate™ podcast, host Anthony Hartcher engages with neuroscientist Sol Sanchez to explore the complex nature of happiness. They discuss the state of happiness as a fulfillment of self and surroundings, the impact of social media on perceptions of happiness, and the drivers of discontent in modern society. The conversation delves into misconceptions about happiness, the role of comparison, and the stigma surrounding discussions of happiness and mental health. Ultimately, they emphasize the importance of sustainable practices in the pursuit of happiness rather than quick fixes.

About Sol Sanchez
Hi! I’m Sol and I did my study abroad internship with Anthony at Me and My Wellness in the Spring of 2023. I graduated from Boston University this past Spring with Bachelor’s in Neuroscience and Psychology. In my undergraduate career, I conducted research on persistence decisions and its links to impulsivity and psychopathology dimensions, exploring the intersection between clinical and cognitive psychology. I was also president of the It’s On Us chapter at BU, a college chapter of the national organization with the mission of combatting sexual violence across college campuses. My work with IOU is what inspired me to create an e-book on holistic ways of dealing with PTSD and trauma responses during my time working with Anthony! Currently, I am a research assistant at a non-profit that reviews clinical efficacy and cost-effectiveness of healthcare interventions, striving to ensure transparency of and accessibility for health interventions for all. In my free time, I volunteer at my local crisis center.
