The Voices of Las Vegas sit down with the Lorax of Las Vegas, a.k.a. Aaron Colletta! He works as a researcher for the MGM Resorts International Public Policy Institute at UNLV. His research interests include regional economic sustainability and the labor impacts from automation. He is currently the lead researcher on the Las Vegas Tree Canopy Equity Initiative which studies the equity gaps in access to environmental public goods and ecological solutions to the urban heat island effect. Additionally, Aaron teaches in the undergrad department for the School of Public Policy and Leadership. He has taught courses in US Constitution and Governance, Civic Engagement, Urbanization and Demography, and Data Visualization. Before returning to academics, Aaron spent eight years in the film industry where he worked in story development and commercial production. Aaron holds a B.A. in Cinematic Narrative and a Master’s in Public Administration. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Urban Affairs.
