Today we look back at the 1975 American thriller film directed by Steven Spielberg, based on the 1974 novel by Peter Benchley, in celebration of its 50 year anniversary. It stars Roy Scheider as police chief Martin Brody, who, with the help of a marine biologist (Richard Dreyfuss) and a professional shark hunter (Robert Shaw), hunts a man-eating great white shark that attacks beachgoers at a summer resort town. Murray Hamilton plays the mayor, and Lorraine Gary portrays Brody's wife.

This year is the 20th anniversary of Batman Begins, the first film of Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy. Batman Begins intentionally had a much darker and more serious tone than did Batman and Robin, which many critics ridiculed for its campy and humorous tone, a choice that most audiences greatly appreciated.

On June 6, 2025, protests began in Los Angeles, when Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raided several city locations to arrest people allegedly involved in illegal immigration and other violations. Several of the protests turned violent after protestors clashed with the Los Angeles Police Department and ICE.

Predator: Killer of Killers is a 2025 American adult animated science fiction action horror anthology film directed by Dan Trachtenberg and Joshua Wassung, and written by Micho Robert Rutare. Produced by 20th Century Studios and Davis Entertainment, it is the sixth film and eighth installment overall in the Predator franchise.
