    Description from Happney:

I think the key to fully appreciating this game is context. It came out a year after it's very successful predecessor WCW/NWO World Tour. It was a more polished product and came our when the WCW was reigning over the WWF in the head to head television ratings known as the Monday Night Wars.

The grappling system used on the game was iconic and set the standard for all future wrestling games. The title did so well, it managed to get THQ the WWF licensing contract away from Acclaim until 2013. It's the highest selling wrestling game on the Nintendo 64, and the 26th highest N64 game ever.

The polygonal appearance of the wrestlers was a sacrifice made to ensure much smoother gameplay than it's WWF competition. I actually have told Don and I think I've told Steve, this isn't even my favorite wrestling game, that would be WWF Smackdown 2, also developed by THQ, but this game is the middle evolution Pokemon. It's not the first one you remember, and it's not the epitome of the genre, but it's the one that grew up with you. The one you spent the most time with.

I'll be the first to admit, it's a multi-player couch co-op game and we can't hold it too accountable for it's lack of online co-op availability, it wasn't designed for that and if licensing wasn't an issue, they could revamp it and there would be a more user friendly online co-op.

And Dan, if you mostly played with Hulk Hogan, I fully understand why you didn't rate the game higher. The Hulkster may be the 3rd worst wrestler on the game behind Eric Bischoff and Disco Inferno, I apologize for that being the bulk of your experience with the game .

On this episode, the guys and Jordan gush over Final Fantasy Tactics. This retro tactical rpg for the PS1 started a spin off series that never quite held up to its first installment. The game follows Ramza, half brother to the patriarch of the noble Beoulve family and his adopted lowborn brother, Delita.

The adventure is a morally ambiguous Shakespearean tale wrapped in deep layers of gameplay. The character customization is addictive and makes each playthrough of this PS1 title a unique experience. Jordan has started over 30 serious playthroughs of this game and this probably wasn't his last!

We even considered making this a 2-part episode because there is just too much content in this RPG to cover in a single episode. It's a must play and lives in the upper echelons of Final Fantasy games, Playstation 1 titles, and tactical RPGs alike.

Come see where it lands in the league and follow along to see where it ends up!
