Ever wonder what happens when a high-achieving tech exec trades deadlines and KPIs for diapers and cluster feeds? Meet Jaclyn Buckingham, founder of The New Mom School in Oklahoma—and our latest podcast guest. In this episode, Jaclyn opens up about leaving behind the fast-paced world of tech where she climbed the corporate ladder with confidence, only to discover that becoming a mom was the one challenge she couldn’t out-organize, out-strategize, or hustle her way through. She thought she could do anything she set her mind to… until motherhood reminded her that control is an illusion and surrender is a skill.

We’re talking about the identity crisis of ambitious women who suddenly find themselves in sweatpants, googling “how to soothe a colicky baby” at 3AM. This one’s for every mom who used to lead meetings and now leads bedtime battles. It’s raw. It’s honest. It’s everything they don’t tell you in birthing classes. 🎧 Listen now on the BeHerVillage podcast and anywhere you get your podcasts.

    Send us a text

Lots of new parents attend baby expos across the country in order to get better prepared for their new baby. But are these baby expos actually giving parents the resources they need to thrive? I asked Jackie Cook and Natalie Fay this question-- and their answer is eye-opening.

Jackie is as maternity leave specialist and Natalie is a sleep consultant working with parents of infants. Together they have founded the 9in9out Parent and Baby Expo, a different kind of event that helps new parents connect with support, services, and education, and products so they can welcome their baby with calm and confidence.

  • From Tears in the Nursery to Building BeHerVillage: My Postpartum Story
    Dec 6 2024

    Send us a text

In this episode, BeHerVillage founder, Kaitlin McGreyes, recounts her early motherhood experiences. From Kaitlin:

I’m rewinding to a moment etched into my memory: just three days postpartum, sitting in my nursery, tears streaming down my face. Despite having every baby product imaginable, I was struggling—clueless about breastfeeding, unsure how to simply shower, and terrified I wasn’t doing motherhood “right.”

This personal story sets the stage for why I created BeHerVillage. As a new mom and a doula, I realized it wasn’t more things we needed, but more support. We deserve real human help, education, and reassurance during those vulnerable newborn days. In this episode, I unpack the emotions of that pivotal moment, explore how the lack of tangible support in postpartum care inspired me, and share how BeHerVillage aims to fill that gap.

Tune in for an authentic conversation that reminds us all: you’re not failing if it feels hard—you’re human. And there’s a better way to get the help you need.
