 Beach lovers and wave watchers, get ready for a sizzling weekend along West Central and Southwest Florida! The surf is serving up a calm and sultry forecast that's perfect for sun seekers.

Expect mostly sunny skies with temperatures climbing into the upper 80s and water temperatures matching the heat at a toasty upper 80s. While the waves will be gentle at just 1 foot or less, don't let the calm fool you - the UV index is extreme, so slather on that sunscreen and grab your shades.

Wind patterns will dance around the compass today. We're looking at southeast winds around 5 mph shifting to southwest in the afternoon. As evening rolls in, winds will transition to a soft west breeze around 10 mph.
