    This series explores the roots of our faith in Christ. There are 7 of these at The Table that we have called our Core Longings since we began over 10 years ago. We believe these 7 Roots ground us in reality and also ground us in our very souls. We want to make what is core to the Christian Faith also core to our own hearts.These topics can go in any order except for his first one because it sets the stage for everything else that follows.We believe that God creates all that is and we also believe that God is good and just and loving. But the only reason that Christians believe they know these things about God is because they believe that God speaks. And God loves a good story. From the earliest times of Israel’s relationship with God they were forbidden to make images of God. Instead, God wanted to give them words. And, it turns out, that God’s favourite word is “Jesus” which means, “God will save”. This particular Word is so potent that it becomes in image, God’s Self-Portrait, to show the whole world that we can know something about the goodness and glory of God.
