    Since 2012, Azzedine Downes has worked closely with experts and decision makers from around the world, leading a groundbreaking period of geographic expansion and strategic consolidation. Before joining IFAW, Azzedine served as the Chief of Party for the U.S. Agency for International Development in Jerusalem and Morocco and was appointed by President Clinton as Acting Regional Director for the United States Peace Corps in Eurasia and the Middle East.

    Today on the Backstory with Omobola Stephen, Dixiane Hallaj was on the show with host, Omobola Stephen to share her thoughts on the ongoing genocide in Gaza has brought the plight of the Palestinians to the attention of the world. Many people are now ready to hear the story of the Palestinians, and are more sympathetic to the injustices they have suffered as a consequence of the creation of the state of Israel.
    Dixiane Hallaj is a publisher,author,and editor.
    Her book, authored by her late husband, titled Unfolding the Arab-Israeli Conflict presents this history from a Palestinian viewpoint who experienced the Nakba as a teenager and sprinkled incidents drawn from his own experience into the narrative.
    Dixiane shared intriguing insights as important take-aways in the book.
    The host also looked at the some of the key aspects of the conflcit- the Palestinian freedom of movement and the Palestinian right of return and also on land and border issues.
    Dixiane also talked on the ethnic cleansing and the expansionism of the state of Isreal. There are profound insights on this crucial topic that has gained global attention since 7th of October 2023 with thousand s of lives lost and properties destroyed.

J.J has a unique perspective on the effects of illegal migration and he has had a 24 year stint with the US Border Patrol especially working a decade on the San Diego /Tijuana Border as a journeyman and supervisory Border Patrol agent.
    The focus of today's topic is on Trump’s victory and his policies which has been putting the world on edge especially as it regards the US Border. Omobola and J.J had extensive discussion on this crucial topic.
    With the new administration of president Donald Trump, The Headline says MAKE AMERICA SAFE AGAIN. He will take bold action to secure the border and protect American communities. This includes ending Biden’s catch and release policies, reinstating remain in Mexico, building the wall,ending assylum for illegal Border crossers, craccking down on criminal sanctuaries,and enhancing vetting and screening of aliens.
    Also covered are the deportation operations which will address the record Border crossings of criminal aliens under the prior administration.
    The role of the armed forces including the National guard to engage in Border security, Designation cartels, including the dangerous Tren de Aragua as foreign terrorist organizations.., The role of the department of Justice which seeks the death penalty as the appropriate punishment for heinous crimes against humanity etc.
    He also talked on legal and illegal immigrants and how the media has conflicted these two.
