  • Episode 197: Quortney Kley Updates (with Gretta Morgan)
    Jun 1 2025
Back in 2021, both episode 49 and minisode #3 featured the story of 20-month-old Quortney Kley. On February 25, 1997, Quortney was sexually abused and murdered by her mom’s boyfriend, Cayce Williams. It took nine years for the legal case to end with Williams accepting a plea agreement in 2006, and he was released in 2021 after spending only 24 years behind bars for the violent sexual assault and murder of a toddler. In this episode, you’ll hear my recent conversation with Quortney’s mom, Gretta Morgan, who has some disturbing updates for us about Quortney’s killer and some shocking revelations about Illinois’ sex offender registry. Quortney’s case is already overwhelming in its injustice, but today’s episode will boggle your mind. #DemandChangeILLinks related to this episode:• Episode 49: https://www.spreaker.com/episode/episode-49-quortney-kley--44665620 • Minisode 3: https://www.spreaker.com/episode/minisode-3-quortney-kley-update--44665601• CBS2 news piece: https://www.cbsnews.com/chicago/news/54-sex-offenders-living-in-one-englewood-building/#• Cayce Williams on the ISP sex offender registry: https://isp.illinois.gov/Sor/Details/X06B1162 • Gretta’s recent interview with freelance journalist Sarah Boyles: https://www.facebook.com/SuicidePainter/photos/tw-quortney-kley-was-a-happy-funny-and-smart-20-month-old-baby-when-cayce-willia/1509718230371103/?_rdr Photos related to today's episode can be viewed on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/sufferthelittlechildrenpod You can also follow the podcast on:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sufferthelittlechildrenpodTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@STLCpodMy Linktree is available here: https://linktr.ee/stlcpod Visit the podcast's web page at https://www.sufferthelittlechildrenpod.com. On August 24, 2020, 23-year-old Luis Luna ran into the living room of his shared Houston apartment in a panic, holding his unresponsive 8-month-old daughter, Savayah Mason. Despite an immediate 911 call, Savayah didn’t make it. An autopsy found horrific injuries, and Savayah’s death was ruled a homicide caused by multiple blunt force injuries with suffocation and sexual assault. A week later, her father was arrested and charged with capital murder.

This is the story of an adorable baby girl whose short life ended in the most brutal way possible. It’s also the story of a young father whose possibly drug-fueled impulses led him to commit an unthinkable crime against his own helpless infant daughter.

This is the disturbing story of Savayah Mason.

First time listener and I must say this episode was the most deplorable horrible sadden case of child abuse I have ever heard of. this little boy AJ will forever have my heart and I pray his mother suffers everyday of her life. I don't ever recall getting very emotional while listening to podcasts but this one did it today as AJ's lawyer was making his closing statements and referring to being hit in the head and adding the slaps with it just broke me down. I love children all of children and I feel that anyone that abuses children should walk the flames of hell. thank you for the great listening will continue to listen you have earned another true and faithful.

Miles alone on the road

Your passion is understandable. really. But I don't expect the host to get emotionally involved in the story. it somehow takes away from the experience. therefore, I won't be listening to STLC going forward.

it's not about you.

Tough subject, she does amazing bringing these silenced voices back. They need to be heard. Need breaks sometimes so it doesn't trigger my PTSD.

Great

Each episode is heartbreaking, but some are hard to get through hearing what people can do to poor innocent babies/children!
Lynn does an amazing job doing so much research to have all the information for each case. I enjoy that she comes back and does updates when things happen in the cases.

Amazing Podcast!!!

The composition of the stories is amazing. I love how much research goes into each case. And your delivery is fantastic! I’ve been binging for a few weeks now. I can’t get enough! Thank you for giving a voice to the innocent ❤️

Love this podcast!

My favorite podcast. Every story is complete, in that, Laine includes every detail, to include, those who are left to mourn the loss of the child they loved, very thorough descriptions of the abusers past and present, other agencies that failed to help, the legal/court process, and most importantly all about the victim and who they were. Every story brings out waves of emotions from sadness to anger. Also, brings a smile to my face hearing about the precious child the victim was.

Love all of them. All of the cases are well researched, and Laine doesn't back down from the hard details. I can't image the toll it takes to put just one show together, much less close to 100 and still counting. thank you for doing this podcast, honey; who knows how many children you may have already saved.

By far my favorite podcast

The host is very sympathetic towards the victims. She has a way with telling the story that brings you a ton of emotions. Her voice is very relaxing for a podcast too!

I love the focus on the victim

The stories are good...but I don't like the options of the author. Please keep your opinions and suggestions to yourself. Most people who listen to this, are looking for an escape from political opinion. If we wanted CNN ideologies, we wouldn't be listening to podcasts!

STOP with the support of craziness
