  • Fautanu's Quest To Claim The Steelers' RT Position For The Next 10 YEARS Starts Now!!! | Episode 60
    Jun 27 2025

Darnell Washington is primed for a bigger role in the Steelers' offense as we dive into his impressive stats and potential impact for the 2024 season. With 19 catches for 200 yards and 1 touchdown, his performance already outshines his 2023 numbers of 7 catches for 61 yards. Given the success of the Arthur Smith system, which thrives on dual tight end setups, Washington's versatility could be a game-changer, especially considering the combined 103 catches and 1,249 yards from Pitts and Smith last season with limited QB play. His PFF rating of 71.2 over 602 snaps highlights his strength as both a receiver and blocker, with run-blocking and pass-blocking grades of 67.2 and 68.3, respectively. After shedding 10-15 pounds, Washington looks faster and more agile, making him a prime candidate for deeper routes beyond just being a safety valve or bootleg option.

Did Jerome Bettis get overshadowed by Franco Harris in the legacy of the Pittsburgh Steelers? With a remarkable career that includes over 10,571 rushing yards and 78 touchdowns in just ten seasons, Bettis certainly left his mark on the franchise. A two-time First Team All-Pro and the 1993 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, he captivated fans with his unique blend of size and agility at 5'11"" and 252 pounds. Known for being nimble, powerful at the goal line, and light on his feet, Bettis had his signature moment when he clinched Super Bowl XL in his hometown of Detroit. However, while he achieved individual accolades, his playoff success doesn’t quite measure up to Franco Harris’s legacy.

Troy Fautanu is set to become a pivotal piece of the Steelers' offensive line as they look to solidify this crucial position. After playing 55 snaps in Week 2 and achieving a respectable overall grade of 64.4, alongside a commendable 69.3 in pass blocking against a formidable defensive front, his performance reflects promise. Fautanu's fit within Arthur Smith's outside run scheme highlights his athleticism, as he consistently reaches the second level and effectively engages with defenders on open-side runs. With high draft capital invested in addressing the offensive line, the Steelers need Fautanu to transform that potential into consistent performance. If he can maintain his health and continue to develop, he could emerge as the Steelers' best lineman this season, showcasing the physical mentality and talent that make him a potential star.

The Pittsburgh Steelers' defense is under the spotlight as they look to reclaim their status as an elite unit. With a staggering $178.7 million allocated in 2025, representing 64% of the team's salary cap, the high-paid playmakers are expected to deliver. However, the scoring defense's 7th place finish may not reflect their actual standing, as they ranked 19th in red zone efficiency. Rushing defense is also crucial, needing to rise to the top 5 after finishing 11th last season. The addition of more athletic players like Patrick Queen and Payton Wilson is aimed at solidifying the defensive line. Additionally, the pass defense, which ranked 23rd last season, must step up as the Steelers face six of the top ten scoring offenses from 2024, including key rivals Baltimore and Cincinnati.

  • Stallworth & Swann Part Of A CRAZY GOOD 1974 Draft | Episode 59
    Jun 20 2025

Payton Wilson is stepping into a crucial role as the starting inside linebacker for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and it’s time for him to prove he’s a DAWG. Last season, Wilson played 520 snaps, but he needs to double that to solidify his position as an every-down linebacker. While he finished fourth on the team with 78 tackles, including 49 solo stops, he was often caught overcommitting early in the season, allowing teams to exploit him in sub-package defenses. Despite being ranked 17th by PFF among all linebackers, this ranking doesn't fully capture his potential due to limited playing time.

Ryan Clark sparks a compelling debate on the legacies of Mike Tomlin and Aaron Rodgers, highlighting how both have been seen as potential all-time greats but have also faced criticism for not living up to lofty expectations. Clark reflects on his admiration for Rodgers, recalling the 2011 Super Bowl loss that led him to believe Rodgers would dominate and secure multiple championships. He draws parallels between Tomlin's ability to motivate and prepare players on par with coaching legends like Nick Saban. However, he questions whether the high standards set for these two icons might skew perceptions of their success. Can someone with four MVPs like Rodgers truly be labeled an underachiever? And what about Tomlin, who has never posted a losing season but has only reached the Super Bowl twice?

Lynn Swann and John Stallworth were both drafted in 1974 during one of the most iconic drafts in NFL history, contributing significantly to the Pittsburgh Steelers' legacy. Swann, a first-round pick, was known for his flashy play and remarkable leaping ability, aided by his ballet background. His best season came in 1975, where he led the league with 11 touchdowns and famously became the first wide receiver to earn Super Bowl MVP honors in Super Bowl X, displaying his extraordinary talent with a record 161 yards in the game. On the other hand, Stallworth, a fourth-round pick, had a slightly different journey. Battling early injuries, he rose to prominence during Super Bowl XIV, stepping in for Swann and making a game-changing 73-yard touchdown catch that sealed the victory for the Steelers.

Who should the Steelers extend next? With Jaylen Warren poised as the starting running back, his role as a complementary back could elevate the offense significantly. Known for being one of the top pass protectors in the league and a reliable option out of the backfield, securing him with a contract around $4-6 million per year could avoid the need to draft another RB. Meanwhile, Calvin Austin III has the potential to thrive as a true #2 receiver alongside DK, making him a vital part of the receiving corps in today's pass-heavy league. Signing him for $5-6 million per year before the season would solidify this dynamic trio. Don’t overlook Isaac Seumalo, the veteran presence on the offensive line. Turning 32 in October, he showed signs of slippage last season, possibly due to an injury that kept him out for the first four games.

  • Second Year Center Zach Frazier PEAKING Early | Episode 58
    Jun 13 2025

Zack Frazier has quickly emerged as a vital asset for the Pittsburgh Steelers, showcasing an impressive rookie season that has fans buzzing about his potential as the next great center. Starting 16 games and achieving a remarkable PFF grade of 77.9—ranking him as the highest graded lineman on the team—Frazier displayed his prowess with a solid 68.6% pass-blocking efficiency and an incredible 80.5% run-blocking rate. His tenacity on the field is unmatched, as he consistently finishes blocks and plays through the whistle, embodying everything Steelers Nation cherishes in an offensive lineman. While concerns of a sophomore slump linger, Frazier’s determination is evident—he notably crawled off the field with a broken leg in college just to save his team a timeout and managed to power through the rookie wall later in the season.

Rod Woodson stands as one of the all-time greats in NFL history, easily claiming the title of my #2 cornerback of all time. His legacy is highlighted by an impressive array of accolades, including two All-Pro seasons at safety after departing from the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he also secured a Super Bowl championship in Super Bowl XXXV. His prowess on the field earned him the NFL Defensive Player of the Year award in 1993, along with an extraordinary six First-team All-Pro selections from 1989 to 2002 and three Second-team All-Pro honors. A perennial favorite, Woodson graced the Pro Bowl 11 times and led the league in interceptions twice. His influence extended beyond individual seasons, earning him spots on the NFL’s 1990s All-Decade Team and both the 75th and 100th Anniversary All-Time Teams. Despite his impressive resume, Woodson's connection to Pittsburgh was evident—he never wanted to leave.

Deshon Elliott has proven himself to be a valuable asset for the Pittsburgh Steelers, delivering a rock-solid performance as a starter with impressive stats including 108 tackles, 73 solo, 1 interception, and 2 forced fumbles. His tenacity and no-nonsense attitude have made him a standout on the defense, stepping up as a vocal leader when the unit has struggled. After bouncing around early in his career with the Ravens, Lions, and Dolphins, Elliott has seemingly found his home in Pittsburgh, where he averaged an impressive 91.5 tackles in seasons where he played at least 14 games. With his skill set aligning well with the defense, extending Deshon Elliott seems like a move that would benefit both him and the team moving forward.

Mini Camp Review highlights the key developments from the Steelers’ offseason activities. The team emerged from mini camp relatively healthy, aside from Darnald Parnam, who was TE4 and not a major concern. Minkah Fitzpatrick has shown up in outstanding form, appearing faster and more rejuvenated, making plays all over the field. On the defensive side, expect a more imaginative and unpredictable scheme rather than sticking to a vanilla approach. Keep an eye on Donte Kent, who has made a strong impression and may challenge Beanie for the nickel spot, showcasing more speed and flashes of talent during mini camp.
