Acerca de esta escucha

Oh boy. Lauren and Nicole have just watched their first Star Wars, and they have questions. Like, what's the devil doing in the Cantina? Is Chewbacca a pet? What was the motivation behind the alien in the trash compactor?

Comedian and Star Wars fan John Gemberling (Big Mouth, Broad City) joins us to answer cultural importance of the original Star Wars series, the lore, characters, and convince the girls to keep on watching.

I just found this podcast and was so disappointed. These women went into watching this movie with such negativity, there was no hope that they were going to enjoy it. They obviously paid little attention to the movie, they didn't catch things that my 8 year old self caught in 1977. I was going to listen to the watch along, but after hearing this episode, I won't be. I love Star Wars, (but am not a super super fan) so hearing these people talk was very frustrating. They talk like the movie was made last year, not nearly 50 years ago. The hosts had no attention span and little comprehension while watching the movie. One of them admitted to yawning in the first 30 minutes. The guest was bad as well. It was labeled as Episode 4 in the first line of the crawl! I saw that the first time I saw the movie and wondered why I had never heard of the first 3 episodes! He says that not everyone loved the movie, which obviously is going to be true for any movie. What he/they failed to mention was it was the first movie to reach $200 million at the box office and was nominated for a Best Picture Oscar. It's a shame that there was so little research done before or after seeing the movie. Maybe look into why it is such a cultural icon, why the were blocks-long lines to see it in 1977, how this movie changed moviemaking. The premise of this podcast is a very good one, but I won't be continuing to listen or subscribe.

Very disappointed
