 Judas entered into a covenant relationship with the Pharisees to betray Jesus. People who become disillusioned with God will trade one covenant for another. He left the covenant of Christ and entered a covenant with Satan. Thirty pieces of half-shekel silver back then went for about $12.5 a coin. The Son of man was betrayed for $375 in today's currency. Virgins who had no oil in their lamp is compared to one who does not know the Bridegroom (Jesus). Dead flies putrefy the perfumers oil. Dead flies of thoughts like accusations against God, lustful enticements of the flesh, the eyes, and the pride of life will contaminate the anointing on your life as it did Judas, and you will no longer have the oil of relationship that makes you known to Jesus. The oil is not worth betraying Him for. Not when He suffered so much to make us children of God. Not when He reconciles us to the Father. God calls us back to the love of His Son, where He restores you by reaffirming your true love for Him as He calls you to feed His lambs and sheep. Don't let dead flies, dead thoughts contaminate what is supposed to be anointed, holy, and is loved by the Son.
