Acerca de esta escucha

Through his podcasts, psychotherapist, coach and author Philippe Tahon will share his experience and knowledge about weight issues and body image. He has been working as a therapist and coach for over 20 years. His research and contact with many health industry professionals, including doctors, dieticians and pharmacists, has allowed him to occupy a unique place in his specialist field. During the course of his years as a therapist he has developed an innovative approach to weight loss, developing a programme that deals specifically with the problems of weight, self-image and addictions. He has gained a deep understanding of these issues after having himself gone through a 15 year yo-yo period of weight loss and regain. It took him years of frustration, guilt and isolation, due to the misunderstanding of friends and family – ‘but you just have to make an effort’ – before he finally got to the bottom of his struggles with food, and lost 5 stone.

One of the biggest contributors to this kind of tiredness? Our phones.

We’re living in an always-on world. We reach for our phones constantly—for messages, social media, videos, news. Even in quiet moments—waiting in line, sitting on the couch—we seek distraction.

It’s constant stimulation, and our brains aren’t wired for it.

More scrolling means more fragmented attention. Our minds don’t get to rest.

Emotionally, scrolling is a rollercoaster: outrage, tragedy, celebration, comparison—within seconds. It’s exhausting.

Thanks for listening, I hope this episode will be helpful.
