Seattle’s job market continues to heat up, reflecting the city’s dynamic economy and varied industries. Over the past seven days, major employers and fast-growing startups alike have rolled out fresh postings, offering opportunities across tech, healthcare, and service sectors.

Amazon, Seattle’s corporate giant, remains a dominant force in hiring. This week, dozens of new roles have opened at its headquarters in South Lake Union. Current listings include positions for software development engineers, digital product managers, and UX designers. Amazon is also ramping up hiring for AWS, with openings in AI and cloud infrastructure. Notably, the company is advertising hybrid roles, reflecting a shift toward more flexible work arrangements.

Tech enthusiasm isn’t limited to Amazon. Smaller companies and startups like Convoy, Outreach, and Remitly are also seeking top talent. Convoy has posted new positions for data analysts and carrier operations associates. Outreach is recruiting for enterprise account executives and machine learning engineers, while Remitly listed openings in fraud prevention and mobile app development. These roles highlight a consistent demand for professionals in fintech, logistics, and business development.

Meanwhile, Microsoft’s Redmond campus, just east of Seattle, is in the midst of significant hiring. In the past week, Microsoft has posted new full-time positions in cybersecurity, AI research, and cloud engineering. Many of these postings target recent grads and mid-level professionals, offering a range of entry points into one of the region’s largest employers.

Healthcare remains a robust sector as providers respond to ongoing staffing needs. This week, UW Medicine, Virginia Mason, and Swedish Health Services posted multiple openings, including for registered nurses, radiologic technologists, and clinical lab technicians. There’s a heightened demand for ICU and emergency department staff, as hospitals continue to manage post-pandemic patient loads and expand outpatient services.

In the service industry, hospitality and retail are bouncing back with vigor. Major hotels like the Fairmont Olympic and Hyatt at Olive 8 are actively hiring for front desk, concierge, and culinary positions. Retailers including Nordstrom and REI have added postings for sales associates and department leads. Many of these roles offer signing bonuses and weekend flexibility, reflecting employers’ efforts to attract and retain talent during a competitive peak hiring season.

Seattle Public Schools and King County are also hiring. Teachers with endorsements in math and science are especially in demand, along with support staff in counseling and special education. King County is looking for project managers, transit supervisors, and public health analysts, signaling stable municipal investment in infrastructure and community programs.

Emerging trends from the latest job postings suggest Seattle employers are prioritizing tech fluency, adaptability, and hybrid work readiness. Applicants with cloud computing experience, data skills, or healthcare backgrounds will find plenty of pathways into rewarding roles.

Seattle’s economy, known for its resilience and innovation, appears ready for its next chapter. With postings arriving daily, job seekers should act quickly and stay sharp—many of these in-demand positions are filling within days.
