I hope you are all doing well! For the past several weeks, I traveled to several Bitcoin conferences. In this podcast, I go over both conferences and share some of my final thoughts. Specifically, I go over the following:

• Attended Bitcoin Vegas and Bitcoin Prague over the past month.
• Conferences are key for networking, connecting with Bitcoin enthusiasts, and getting firsthand industry insights.

Bitcoin Vegas:

• Mixed experience: fiat-heavy, expensive, and some shady #*@#coiners.
• Navigated the right circles, had fun, and made it worthwhile.
• Highlight: Ross’s incredible speech and meeting leaders at side events.
• Least favorite compared to Miami and Nashville; rated 6/10.

Bitcoin Prague:

• Standout event: intimate, focused on genuine networking, fewer scams.
• Some salesy booths, but the Primal booth was fun; enjoyed Czech pints while watching speakers or on the patio.
• Affordable food trucks; the only downside was the slightly remote location.
• Rated 9/10.

Final Thoughts:

• Bitcoin maxis should try international conferences like Prague over mainstream BTC events.
• Hesitant to attend another conference soon, but would likely choose one abroad for a better experience.

• It’s a classic chicken-and-egg problem, but things are finally changing!
• Steak ‘n Shake announced a few days ago that they will begin accepting Bitcoin starting May 16, 2025.
• With approximately 400 locations, the brand serves over 100 million customers annually.
• This is a significant milestone for the U.S., as many believe Bitcoin’s store-of-value narrative is well-established, and now the medium-of-exchange narrative is gaining traction.
• In two weeks, we plan to visit a Steak ‘n Shake and record our experience for you.
• A key question is whether they will convert the Bitcoin to cash or hold it as Bitcoin.
• We expect more businesses to follow suit in the coming months as America emerges as the Bitcoin capital of the world!

The financialization of Bitcoin is well underway, and with this comes many positive developments, but I also want to point out many concerns. Several products are starting to hit the market that offer one cash if you post your bitcoin as collateral. It is important to keep in mind that this may seem good on the onset, but often there can be risks associated with debt-based products.

In today's podcast, I go over Bitcoin-powered loans, my thoughts on them, and lastly, the pros and the cons. Specifically, I discuss the following points:

• Bitcoin’s Financialization Phase: We’re witnessing the rapid financialization of Bitcoin, transforming it into a cornerstone of crypto lending markets.
• Rise of Bitcoin Lending Products: For better or worse, Bitcoin-based lending platforms are proliferating, with new products launching frequently.
• Key Players in Bitcoin Lending: Platforms like Coinbase, Lendn, Aave, and Strike offer Bitcoin lending services, with many more expected in the next few years.
• High Volatility Risks: Bitcoin’s extreme price volatility poses a significant threat—if the price drops below a certain threshold and you can’t add more collateral, you risk losing your Bitcoin.
• Custodial Concerns: With many platforms, you don’t hold your private keys, raising questions about security and control.
• 1:1 Bitcoin Backing Uncertainty: It’s unclear whether these platforms hold Bitcoin reserves on a 1:1 basis, adding another layer of risk.
• High Interest Rates: The steep interest rates on Bitcoin loans are a major drawback, making borrowing costly.
• Benefits of Bitcoin Lending: Despite the risks, Bitcoin lending offers compelling advantages.
• No Credit Checks, Fast Access: Bitcoin loans require only collateral, making them quick and accessible without credit checks.
• Tax Advantages: Borrowing against Bitcoin may avoid taxable events, as you don’t need to sell your assets.
• HODL Strategy Upside: By not selling your Bitcoin, you can retain potential gains if Bitcoin’s price surges, aligning with the HODL strategy.

Over the past 5 years, we have seen countless SPACs rise, as it is an alternative way to raise capital. These are one of the many ways to bring a company public, and it is important to be aware of the risks before shelling out your hard earned cash on these investments. In todays podcast, I will go over the following:

• SPACs are blank-check companies that facilitate private companies going public if the deal aligns.
• Institutional capital often backs SPACs, with sponsors typically holding large stakes they sell post-launch.
• I’ve participated in SPACs like SPCE, DKNG, CCIV, Nikola, and Folds.
• Most SPACs I’ve seen end 70–80% down, causing significant capital erosion, though they offer an easier path to going public.
• After these experiences, I’ll avoid investing in SPACs for the next decade.
• SPACs involve complex financial engineering and risks not present in traditional investments.
• Key questions include: How many insiders hold shares, and how much? How much dilution occurs post-IPO? What’s the company’s valuation after going public?
• Other critical factors: What are the asset’s end-to-end fundamentals? What’s the multiple to NAV (Net Asset Value)?
• These questions are vital before investing in a SPAC, but hype often overshadows due diligence, leaving many investors burned.
• 21 Capital could benefit Bitcoin by optimizing Bitcoin per share and developing Bitcoin financial products and lending models.
• Led by Jack Mallers and backed by SoftBank and Cantor Equity Partners, 21 Capital seems promising but isn’t ideal for retail investors who can buy spot Bitcoin at fair value for cold storage.
