Knowing what she knows now, today’s guest wishes she could go back in time and ask her younger self, “do you actually love yourself?” Maybe you can relate to this. Life was just “ok.” She was basically thinking “I guess this is as good as it gets” even though she checked most all the boxes on the traditional “to do” list. …because “when you’re in it you don’t really know there is some thing else available.” Got Married.Got a degree.Got a dog.Got a job. But what if you don’t like the job you just spent 8 years to get? The mind starts to dig up solutions at the “external environment” level: Maybe I can just… change jobs. Maybe that’s all we need!! In her search to feel valued at work, Dr. Guinevere Stasio realized that her employer actually had the ownership of her security… However, all of that changed literally overnight when they decreased her salary by $15,000 immediately after a 6-week unpaid maternity leave. “What do I need to DO to get that back?” As heartbroken as she was, exposure to new and different approaches to life allowed her to begin to expand what she knew possible. Breakdown of some juicy conversation highlights: The scandal of divorceTransparency into her audiology salary and financial transition into entrepreneurshipWhat it’s like to have a $15,000 salary decrease after 6 week os unpaid maternity leave (go USA!)Working through the “is it worth it for me to go back to work” conversation post-babyAre you a victim or a victor? It’s a choice. It took 7 years to release the anger for her bossGoing “deep” versus “wide” in our situationsLiving in the victimhood story of a terrible bossThe bonding culture of complainingBreaking the cycle of generational trauma… with our choicesThe power of curiosity in the exploration of self-love For Gwen, it took an unexpected hardship to show her that she is the owner of her life. “Is this real life? Can this really happen? I was in so much shock.” But what did it take for her to transform from holding back tears, hot throated & red in the face with anger… to face hardships with the questions: “what is this teaching me and how can I move through it”? After holding on to that anger for 7 years, Gwen now believes that the quicker we get to the other side of anger: The easier we move through thingsThe less we hold on to thingsThe more aligned we become with who we are What I love about Gwen’s story is that she was brave enough to step outside of the box of what society labels as “successful.” I mean, cmon, what does it take to LET GO of your Doctorate in Audiology that you worked 8 years for?! And try something entirely new?! And often times we get stuck at the point of knowing that we need clarity… but not having any idea on HOW to get it. For Gwen, clarity is knowing what you value and keeping your focus on that. Through this conversation, the question is, which do you value?: Telling the victim story over and over again; orDrafting a new script So is “DOING” the answer? Because even in the entrepreneurial space, Gwen found herself burnt out. She found herself “performing” for: the paycheckthe accolades; andthe recognition. Gwen eventually arrived at a critical moment where she asked herself: who am I? Underneath it all: who am I? Gwen lets us in on what it took for her to get aligned WITH HERSELF and use that as a foundation for everything else.  “The journey has to be you leading yourself first.” TODAY'S GUEST: Dr. Guinevere Stasio is a clinical doctor turned empowerment coach and wealth activator.
