The Wests Tigers didn't get flogged, but it was still a disappointing night for fans on Sunday.

Taking on injury-hit South Sydney, there was hope our boys could keep that important 50% win record alive heading into the bye.

It wasn't to be, though, with Souths getting home 22-12.

On this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast, Joel Helmes is joined by Steve Stretton and Eddie Otto to pull apart the most recent Wests Tigers Performance.

Some of the key issues up for discussion include:

  • Our lack of direction
  • Our lack of impact
  • Our poor execution
  • Our lack of variation in most of our plays

There's also the topic discussed that seems to be on most Wests Tigers fans' minds, and that is recruitment.

Why are we watching a promising season slip away without strengthening some of the obvious weaknesses in the squad?

There are a couple of positives on the agenda, though.

It can be hard to find too many things to get excited about as a follower of the club right now, but we found a couple.

These are, namely, the ongoing contributions being made by Sione Fainu and the impressive work of Tony Sukkar on Sunday evening.

There's also a pat on the back for Charlie Staines and Sunia Turuva, too.

We run through the many 'One Word' contributions from members of the Wests Tigers Podcast Forum, and Steve tells us about the Ambush event held before the match.

That event was a little different, it included members of the rival Souths group, The Burrow. Did everyone get along? Steve has the details.

Oh, and Eddie and Steve also fire their shots in a new round of calling out some rugby league columnists over their ongoing questionable behaviours.

We didn't get the win, but we hope you enjoy this latest edition of the pod. Thanks for listening.
