Dr. Becky forever

Thank you, thank you thank you thank you, for this. Pinterest introduced me to you, and I immediately knew you were the real deal. My two girls are ages 5 years and 8 months; your tips/talks and ideas are not only indescribably resonant, but they work. They really work in helping me understand what the heck is going on with my kid in those incredibly blindsided, clueless, vulnerable moments when I’m like, wtf am I supposed to do with this? How the heck do I navigate whatever this is, but most importantly - how do I help my baby girl navigate this. How do I choose the reaction/intervention/response/direction in this moment that lovingly leads and teaches my child effectively and gently, while simultaneously taking one more step down this path of divergence away from the generational patterns and trauma I am [so desperately determined yet so blindly terrible at] trying to navigate? That’s a TALL ORDER, and trust me I have read/watched/listened to/furiously researched a lot of opinions. This podcast/episode had me in tears almost instantaneously, because I have carried so much guilt, shame, and confusion around this ever-present yet totally conflicted sense of complete loss I have felt since becoming a mother; I was naively surprised by the fact that it did not improve with baby #2, but has instead worsened over the past 8 months. Hearing you guys discuss this very same experience was the most comforting, validating, forgiving moment for me, and since I trust you know the gravity of that implication already, I will just end by saying thank you one more time. Thank you.

Not impressed.

I will keep looking for a better podcast in regards to positive reinforcement and natural consequences in parenting.
