    Anushilan Samiti was formed in 1902 in Bengal. It was a bodybuilding society, an undercover name for the society of anti-British revolutionaries in Bengal. Alarmed by the revolutionary activities of the Samiti, the British took a series of measures to stop the society. The Special Branch of the Calcutta Police was constituted to deal with them. This episode is an ode to their valor.

    Jugantar was a secret revolutionary society running in Bengal during the British era. It functioned under the guise of a fitness club. Many of the members were sent abroad for political and military training. Several Jugantar members were arrested, hanged, or deported for life in the Cellular Jail in Andaman. The sacrifice of these lesser known soldiers was a great contribution to India's freedom.
